Remote Endpoints possible?

Aug 25, 2009 at 1:42 PM

Hi all,

I am trying to evaluate Simple Service Bus for use on a distributed application.  To do this I am building a prototype distributed application with a publisher on one desktop and two subscribers on another desktop.

I am trying to get SSB working in a pub-sub way, where the subscribers are connecting to the remote endpoint for published messages.

My publisher config is local and standard -

<endpoint
    endpointId="PUBLISHER"
    returnAddress="Publisher">

    <messageAssemblies>
      <assembly name="Messages" />
    </messageAssemblies>

  </endpoint>

My subscriber configuration looks like this -

<endpoint
    endpointId="SUBSCRIBER"
    returnAddress="Subscriber">

    <messageHandlerAssemblies>
      <assembly name="Subscriber"/>
    </messageHandlerAssemblies>

    <messageAssemblies>
      <assembly name="Messages" destinationAddress="Publisher@MachineName"/>
    </messageAssemblies>

  </endpoint>

The reason I used the "Publisher@MachineName" syntax is because that it what is used by NServiceBus, which I understand is where SSB came from.  Is this the problem?  Should I be specifying the remote queue in some other way?

Thanks,

Matt.

Sorry, I should have also said that when I run my prototype app and publish a message, nothing happens.  It does not seem to be received by the subscribers and there is no exception or anything thrown.  If I run everything on one machine, with local queues, then it works fine.

Thanks again,

Matt.

Hi Matt,

This tread is very old but did you get this working as I am seeing a similar problem?
